My career started in hospitality, where naturally you learn to work hard and be attuned to the needs of your customers.
I then moved to London and worked in recruitment matching people to jobs, before moving onto Property Management.
While Property Management is a different industry, there are important similarities. 1. You’re trying to find a perfect match, in order to achieve positive outcomes. 2. You also need to be very compliance oriented, as there is a lot of legislation, references and paperwork in recruitment just as there is Property Management, when it’s done well that is!
You’re also working with people at a time when they feel vulnerable. Just as finding a job can be stressful, so too can finding a home. I endeavour to provide a professional and positive experience for my tenants.
One group of tenants that I was lucky enough to help were a couple of young sisters that were first time renters. They were looking for a home for themselves and their father who was sadly unwell. They just wanted a beautiful home and to prove they would be great tenants, so we found them a property they loved. This was very rewarding for me.
Although I have loved working for other companies, without a doubt Glasshouse is the best team I’ve ever worked with. Being with other motivated and like-minded people is a dream. While helping new tenants find a home is also extremely rewarding.
I think what surprises tenants and landlords the most about the Glasshouse team is our
attention to detail. We’re sticklers for detail because we like to do things right. This is important as it’s about setting expectations, being thorough and diligent and getting the relationship off on a good footing right from the start.
We build relationships with tenants and landlords right from the start, and our communication is the part they love.
